Allison, LMT, Owner and Senior Therapist Allison’s specialty is Therapeutic/Clinical massage. Allison has been a licensed massage therapist since 2015, and opened Scottsdale Therapeutic & Sports Massage in 2019 after relocating to Scottsdale from the east coast. She started out her professional life as a tax lawyer, practicing 18 years before retraining as a massage therapist. As a recreational figure skater and frequent consumer of massage services, she has strong opinions on the difference between a tuned-in massage and a wholly generic one, and resolved to be a therapist who listens to her hands. She quickly gravitated toward the more clinical applications of massage, studying neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, and orthopedic massage. She brings an analytical, methodical approach to each client’s condition and goals, and enjoys feeling muscles change in texture and tone under her hands.
Leander, LMT, Staff Therapist Leander is a graduate of the Arizona School of Medical Massage and Wellness, where he developed a specialty in clinically-reasoned, deep tissue massage. Prior to massage school, his career has been in the healthcare industry, maintaining software for hospitals across the country, and he is excited to now provide care directly as a massage therapist. In his spare time, Leander is a competitive ballroom dancer, which has led him to cross train in multiple modalities and to study the Alexander Technique to better understand how the body works and how to improve its function. His experience ranges from chronic pain management to peak athletic performance. Because every body is different every day, Leander strongly believes that every session should be custom tailored to every client, every time.
